Monday Mish Mash: Tom Cruise

In case y'all missed it, an unidentified blabbermouth told the busy celebrity gossip beavers at Radar Online that Tom Cruise "runs his household staff with absolute military precision and with the utmost attention paid to security."

So the story goes, the multi-wing mansion—located in Beverly Hills and not Bel Air as was suggested in the Radar Online report—is divided into defined zones and Mister Cruise's domestic employees are not allowed to enter areas of the house where they do not work. For example, the kitchen staff is forbidden from entering the bedroom wing(s) and vice versa.

The tattle tale went on to reveal that Mister Cruise employs personal valets for his mother and sisters as he did for third ex-Missus Holmes when they were still married and that he requires potential household staff "undergo rigorous testing at the Scientology Celebrity Center in Los Angeles" that includes emergency situation hypotheticals and a battery of math questions.

Listen children, no one thinks Tom Cruise is a bizarro bird who lives in a ridiculously insular and cosseted world more than Your Mama. But, let's get real, okay? He's an internationally renown superstar actor and we really can't poo-poo him for not wanting his scullery maids lurking around in his dressing room or for wanting his estate manager to know how to do basic math.

Mister Cruise and his now third ex-wife Katie Holmes purchased the gated and heavily fortified estate with its almost 11,000 square foot main residence back in April 2007 for $30,500,000 from Platinum Triangle super-Realtor Kurt Rappaport.

In other semi real estate related Tom Cruise news, at least one report out of the U.K. say six year old Suri Cruise will recieve several expensive Christmas gifts this year including a $24,000 Victorian-style play house, an iPad mini, a fur coat by Chloé and "a £6,000 children's version of a Mercedes-Benz car." We're not sure how the Daily Mail knows this, but there you have it...

Actually, all the staff is forbidden from entering Tommy's bedroom wing except for hot young men between the ages of 18-30. Even Katie herself was banished to the scullery maid's room, the poor dear.

Those hot men have to be at least 0T5!

While I have no idea whether or not Mr. Cruise is indeed "in the closet" as so many people say he is, and also certainly have no problem with him being gay if he indeed is, I would have to imagine that this level of security leads me to believe their is indeed some type of bizarre skeleton in the man's closet, because, honestly, while I get that he is a major celebrity, there's still a difference between being security/privacy conscious and being downright paranoid, which the more I hear about the man, definitely appears to be the case. For example, if he really isn't gay, wouldn't you maybe want a scullery maid accidentally catching you in bed with a young hottie once in a while to let that get out there and quash the gay rumors? So unfortunately, I find myself concluding that either the man is indeed a closeted homosexual (which if he is, i find very sad for him, because really, in this day & age, does anyone care? just be yourself...) or their really is something much darker going on with the his involvement with the church of Scientology that, if it made it out into the public, really would destroy his image. Or, maybe being famous for so long really has just driven him to the point where he really is insanely paranoid, and for no reason at all. Whichever is the case, I just find it really sad. He just seems like such a deeply unhappy person, and a true cautionary tale that looks, fame and money are not the keys to happiness, that has to come from within.

Tom Cruise is gay as hell in addition to being a weirdo Scientologist. However I do like his movies and go see them regardless. Go figure.

Cruise is not all that difficult to figure out. A kid with no education who in the beginning lived at his agent's house and spent, so she says, most of the day admiring himself in the mirrors, would be easy pickings for a cult of narcissism like Scientology. Once you get that central notion in your head, all the rest falls into place.

This estate is heavily guarded. You can see red lights a flury (Infeared lights) a top the walls. If Tommy boy wants some pretty boys to swim in his pool as luck would have it Kevin Huvane's large redone lair by Michael Smith featured in A.D. this year is directly adjacent to Tommy Poo's Pad.. and always a flury with young talent... it is just elevated slightly higher than Tommy's with a swooning view over LALA Land.

This is at least the second time on here it has been noted that Tom and Katie bought the beverly hills house ..as in together? If she was on title, she surely would have walked with much more in the divorce. I know she wanted it quick and painless (Very commendable) but determining her share of a 30M property would not have frustrated her purpose. He is just creapy, no other way to say it. Oh..and I assume all the east coast buzz of him buying a "compound" is over Mama?

Mama, when Tom bought this house back in 2007 I remember there were a ton of reports saying he planned on spending another $15 million on top of the $30 million he paid to renovate the place, even though it had already been recently renovated. Did this actually happen? I wouldn't be the least bit surprised.

The house is fantastic, but spending $45 million on it seems a little cookoo. Isn't it on a flag lot? But then look who we're talking about. ;)

Image what that amount of money could do to help people in need. $24,000 car is as much as many people make in a year.

9:50 don't apply normal thinking or Christian sentiments to Scientologists, or the super rich (with rare exceptions) either.

Rich people aren't evil just because they don't do what YOU think they should do with THEIR money, 9:50.

That said, Stumpy McBunkerstein and all his creepy delimiters seem ... like the lady doth protest too much.

Bottomline. If you don't think Tom Cruise isn't at least a little weird and creepy you haven't been paying attention. The way Katie Holmes left him and got a divorce so quickly says there is a lot more to the story, and it's not so good. Also, we really don't know what Katie got up front to marry him and what she got when she divorced him either. Regardless she thought she would be just fine, and she obviously is.

8:01 9:50 did not say they are evil, but implied they are greedy and selfish and un-Christian. Do you dispute that? Money people get is always in the context of the society that supports that. They don't do it divorced from the society that provides them with the means to get rich, so the idea that they have no obligations to anybody else is silly. And by the way what does Mr. Cruise do with all his vast wealth? Spend it all on himself? Give it to his cult? Make large charitable gifts for the good of society? If he does that I have yet to hear of it.

I feel very sorry for the people that work for that schmuck. There were reports at the time of his divorce he was thinking of ditching scientology. I dont think that will happen in a millon years. He is a complete zealot.

So what he limits access to parts of the house.
How many staff people are we talking about ?
Lets count:
3 to 4 gardeners. likely 1 to 2 full time
1 butler-type full time
2 housemaids full time
chef > maybe
a few random pool guys once a week

I would not want my gardeners inside the house. and the Chef in my bedroom.
A house this large is like a small hotel anyway. People have work to do and not be touring the home.
The Butler doesn't need to be sun-bathing.
setting some limits is a good way to manage people. you don;'t want them all in the formal dining room having late lunches and mid afternnon tea while your away.

Although. Ole Tom is one crazy cat, someone over there knows how to manage a large household.
If you had 10 full time employees, everyday you went to get your coffee, you had to say hello to each one, and a few of them wanted to chit-chat, it would be a full hour walk to the coffee pot. Not Good.
